Jesus, Pop Icon?

Would you like Jesus to be your idol when HE was a teen-ager? Would you be interested the same things that interested Jesus? Some may answer, 'maybe', 'no way' or 'hell, no'. Liking Jesus would have been diffrent than liking Britney Spears, Beyonce, Justin, the American Idol, or the late Michael Jackson. Jesus wasn't- and never could've been- a pop icon. Most pop icons were known by being cute and cuddly and a little bit naughty and a lot of them have secret need to be loved by a lot of people. If they need to change their style, their clothes, and their CDs every week, they can and they will just to keep their popularity and fame. Jesus wasn't into fame or money or acting the puppy for somebody's puppy love. Nobody who studies Jesus' life could could ever come away with the idea that you should treat one person better than the other. He could have said, " Hey, Mom, I'm the Creator, right? So why do I have to take out the trash and do carpentry work?" Instead, He was a willing servant and a loving, obedient son.

So what now, I know that most teen-agers or people might say, "Oh my gosh, chill out', you have no idea of what my life is. What on earth are you thinking, why should I like Jesus anyways?" Different reactions and different point of views about Jesus, yet one thing I would like to say, Jesus' life displayed sympathy and tenderness....the atmosphere of hope and courage that surrounded Him made Him a blessing to every home or perhaps every people that surrounds Him....He lived to please, honor and glorify His Father in most common things of life....which way are we gonna follow? the hard way, which will eventually lead us to eternal life or the easy way which will lead us to eternal hell and damnation? your answer will depend on how you value your life now and what kind of lifestyle you are living.

But as for me, I am yearning to do the things that would keep me connected with the Vine....for apart from Him, I can do nothing.
